The Honda GL500 Silverwing was an early 80's entry level touring bike.

The idea was to create a factory touring bike for light commuting. Take a popular V-twin commuter bike, graft on the GL-1100 interstate fairing, and mix in a pair of custom saddlebags. Voila, instant city-bike.  It is low maintenance, cheap to insure, easy on gas, and fairly quiet. The bike proved quite effective on the Toronto-Hamilton route I was working when I purchased it, but since I now work closer to home I have found the bike a little bigger than I need. Now if you could drop a VFR-750 motor under the fairing... It also comes with a small trunk not pictured.

I bought the 82 'wing pictured in July 1996, and decided to sell it in the summer of 98, 12,000 km later. I've got an RD400 project bike, and need more space in the garage.

Feb 6/99 Update:
