Welcome back!!!

We are now set to go for 2012's event to happen on the weekend of August 10-12th.

BOTC 2012 will feature:
  • The most laid-back Friday camping you can imagine anywhere. Just arrive, get registered, and after dark we can all chill out with the other bus fanatics at the campfire.
  • There will be a kids campfire from 7-10PM near the west sheter for those who want to roast marshmallows.
  • Saturday starts with the world-famous FMBC Breakfast Burritos, and then gets busier...
  • A swap meet to turn your spare parts into cash, or vice-versa.
  • Plenty of space for a friendly game of Frisbee Golf and Bocce Ball.
  • The most excellent Tie Dye Extravaganza anywhere.
  • Fresh-picked locally grown sweet corn, served up within hours of its picking.
  • Another amazing campfire on Saturday night. Bring a musical instrument and join the jam!
"CABIN FEVER" 2012 SPECIAL OFFER: (Expires once pre-event costs are covered, so book ASAP!)
Preregistration costs are up this year after an increase in booking fees with the Conservation Authority. So the pre-registration for the weekend will cost $30 but will still include a T-shirt.

*The shirt will be a single-colour design on a white shirt. The design will say Buses of the Corn 2012 on it and at least one bus will be pictured. If you don't pick up your shirt at the event be prepared for a considerable wait before I get around to mailing it out, as after the event I wind up really busy and forget stuff like that easily.

Please note:
Unlicensed motorized vehicles are NOT permitted in the campround.
Mopeds are permitted between the hours of 8AM and 8PM.
Thank you for your assistance.

DIRECTIONS:

OK, they're on the site, but maybe not easy enough to find.

Buses Of the Corn  is a family event for VW Bus owners August 10th - 12th, 2007. Check out the links above for more info.

Bring your Splitty, Bay-window, Vanagon or Eurovan.    If you don't have a camper, you'll have an "in-tents" experience at BOTC!

GOOGLE EARTH:
I have uploaded a link to a Google Earth bookmark for BOTC. Use this to program your GPS with the precise co-ordinates of the best VW Bus Campout in Ontario this August! Google earth is one of my favorite freeware apps for trip planning and snooping on my neighbours.

SPAM:

I'm giving up entirely on the old "busesofthecorn@pottsfamily.ca address. It's hopelessly overrun with spam. Let's give a try to greg_AT_pottsfamily.ca instead.

December 23rd, 2005:
Perhaps our proudest moment, Project Yellow Ribbon was written up in Hot VW's  Magazine!
Unfortunately the article isn't available online, but if you can lay your hands  on  a Januarry 2006 issue you will find Lynne Anderson's article on page 46.
Thanks again to all who participated!

September 22nd  2005 Project Yellow Ribbon has been completed!

BOTC 2005 featured one "covert" event, a little sideshow we referred to as "Project Yellow Ribbon". We took custody of a bus belonging to a Canadian soldier serving in Kabul Afghanistan, and we while he was away on duty we pimped his ride!! When we brought it back to him last weekend he DIDN'T EVEN RECOGNIZE IT. Read all the gory details here.

A huge thank-you to all the people who attended BOTC and donated thier time and money to the effort.

Special Note:
U.S. Citizens now require a passport to re-enter the US in a vehicle.  Visit this page for more border info.

DIRECTIONS:
Take Exit #410 from Highway 401 at Brock St. in Whitby. Go North on Brock St. to Taunton Rd. Turn LEFT onto Taunton Rd and continue about a mile to Country Lane Rd. Turn RIGHT on Country Lane Rd. to the end and then turn RIGHT onto Lyndebrook Rd.   Follow lyndebrook about 150 yards to a parking area with a gate on the right side of the road. Open the gate, drive through and close it behind you.  Follow the gravel road to the end, it's about 1/2 mile or so.

Please note: There is a Brock ROAD in Ajax with an interchange to the 401. That is not the exit, Brock STREET is about 5 miles to the east.
